ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Brianna Tejeda, and I am a student at the University at Buffalo. My goal in life is to blend my artwork with storytelling. I aspire to write impactful and meaningful stories that will linger in the minds of my readers and viewers long after they experience them. I am not afraid to push boundaries and strive to convey strong messages through my pieces.
I was born and raised in West Harlem, New York City. I am Dominican and grew up in a small two-bedroom apartment with my mother and grandparents. During the latter part of middle school, I joined a nonprofit organization called The Brotherhood Sister Sol, where I learned to express my creativity through poetry and storytelling.
I also participate in Gaia Renaissance (in Brosis), a youth leadership program that allows me to serve my community. I work at a youth-led farmers' market and contribute to beautifying our community garden. I have been involved in all four core groups of the program: Sustainable Design, Food Empowerment, Horticultural Science, and Community Organizing.
Through these experiences, I have discovered that my main passion is to create—anything that comes to mind without limits. I want to tell stories and captivate an audience through my poetry, narratives, or artwork. My love for storytelling drives me, and I can't wait to write as many books as possible. I welcome all my wild ideas, hoping they will prompt others to think critically about the world around us.
