Brianna Tejeda is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and storyteller from West Harlem, New York City. A graduate of University at Buffalo, her work explores identity, gender, mental health, memory, and human connection through painting, drawing, printmaking, film, and narrative world-building. Rooted in personal experience, her practice examines the tension between societal expectations and self-perception, often centering vulnerability, transformation, and emotional honesty.

Raised in a Dominican household alongside her mother and grandparents, Brianna began developing her voice through poetry and storytelling at The Brotherhood Sister Sol, a nonprofit organization dedicated to youth empowerment and social justice. She also participated in Gaia Renaissance, a youth leadership program focused on sustainability, food justice, horticulture, and community organizing, where she worked in community gardens and youth-led farmers markets serving her neighborhood.

Her work blends intimate storytelling with cultural commentary, challenging rigid ideas surrounding gender, identity, and power. Through self-portraiture, documentary filmmaking, and figurative work, she creates emotionally charged spaces that encourage viewers to question assumptions and reflect on their own experiences. Brianna’s artistic practice is driven by a desire to tell impactful stories that linger beyond the moment of viewing—stories that invite discomfort, empathy, introspection, and possibility.

One year after graduating, she continues developing projects across visual art, poetry, and long-form storytelling, with aspirations of creating work that resonates deeply and sparks meaningful conversation.
